This is a half-a-million-pound government initiative designed to achieve the target of 50% participation of 18-30 year olds in higher education (HE) by 2010. It involves working in partnership with educational institutions across West London, the Connexions service and local learning partnerships to maximise the impact of planned activities.

Managing the Project is Jehan Khan, who is based at Thames Valley University, the lead organisation in the London West Partnership.
"The whole ethos behind the initiative is to pool resources, experience, ideas and knowledge to help youngsters to progress on to HE. All the partners I liaise with appreciate that the greatest strength we have is in a co-ordinated approach."

This collaborative project was launched on 27 November 2003, at the Ramada Hotel in Ealing and was very well attended. Partners were welcomed by Professor Geoff Crispin, Vice-Chancellor of Thames Valley University. Other key-note speakers included Peter Pledger, Executive Director of the London West Learning and Skills Council and Mary Stuart of Action on Access and Pro Vice-Chancellor at the University of Sussex.
