Grants for work-based students
It has become apparent that the financial support available to those students who are working and studying for a higher qualification is one of DFES's best kept secrets.
Students who are working and studying for a higher qualification may claim a non-repayable grant of up to £825 which is means-tested and is based on their own income - not their parents/guardians.
The grant is provided by the LEA in which the student lives.
